Abstract

Anemias from glucose deficiency 6 Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD), to 400 million people worldwide. The present bibliographical revision had the objective of updating the state of knowledge about this disease. Because this condition is a contraindication to ozone therapy, it is a topic of great interest for ozone therapists. The review has to do with the results. The results. The years from 1960 to 2018. These are more important aspects such as the hereditary character linked to the chromosome. The importance of G6PD in the redox equilibrium of the red blood cell in the increased production of reduced glutathione is described. In epidemiology we review its geographical distribution and its link with Plasmodium. Its classification according to WHO and its clinical picture given by hemolytic anemia. The triggers are in general oxidizing agents, among which ozone should be highlighted. The diagnosis is based on clinical-epidemiological and laboratory criteria. The management of these patients depends on when they are found if there is chronic or acute hemolysis and the most important thing is not to expose them to triggering agents (oxidants). The relationship to hemolysis in general by toxins related to oxidative stress is an element to consider when designing treatment with ozone systemically
