Abstract
Low back pain is the most frequent cause of consultation in a Pain Unit. The etiological diagnosis of low back pain is difficult because the symptoms are not very specific and in most cases several causes of pain coexist due to the fact that dehydration and disc degeneration produce an alteration of the biomechanics of the lumbar spine that involves other structures such as the facet joints and paravertebral muscles. In this work, a case of a male patient who was refractory to facet, muscular and epidural infiltrations was presented. He was applied facet paravertebral ozone and at the L4-L5 disc level. The results were a progressive decrease in pain, until its complete disappearance. It is concluded that this method may be effective in these cases, but clinical studies with a larger sample are needed.
